Console or PC?
We recently took a look into the latest FPS bang, Modern Warfare 2, known to gamers as MW2.
While we have been die hard PC gamers, we recently had it brought to our attention what the benefits of consol gaming is compared to PC gaming. While this brief editorial may not have swayed us away from PC gaming, it did however raise an eyebrow as to the contrast in platforms.
In this particular instance we will be making reference to Modern Warfare 2. As the launch date reached its final moment, we all anticipated what it would be like. We all had our ideas and hopes mustard on our backs ready to claim fame on the battlefield. Of course we all had outsiders, “Friends of Friends” that had the console system at mind while awaiting our latest FPS fix. The lines amass as the people scrambled toward the entrance.
If there were ever to be a hint given, as to what was in store for us, it should have been at the store. We get our crack at the front line, credit card in hand for some, crumpled cash for others. Once we reached our turn in line, we couldn’t help but catch wind of the staggering numbers. While we didn’t actually get real numbers as to the sales that had taken place that evening, we got even better. When we reached the front of the line, we asked the clerk for our game. The clerk then asked for which platform, as to which we of course replied, PC. To our utter amazement, the clerk said, “PC?” as if it were a surprise. We repeat, “Yes, PC please”. Strange look still attached to his face, the clerk replies “I have to go to the back, one moment please”.
Now we stand with the estranged look on our face. All the console titles were huddled in the front in nice neat bens ready for the taking. However the PC games were nestled in the back like shame. We brush it off; leave the store with the idea that all that we have come to expect would be solidified.
Weeks pass, and we are now feeling the pain of cheaters taking advantage of the real players. It is brought to our attention that there is a whole world that we have yet to experience.
